Garmin Camper 780 not displaying route

Not 100% but believe it's due to the last update. I can't see the calculated route on the map. It used to display a route in pink.
I can see an arrow at the next junction.
Voice prompts still work.
A bit of a pain. Especially when it offers choices and asks me to chose one.

I can't just do a map update, I have to use Basecamp to transfer the map to the sd card in the GPS.

Any ideas?

Can you explain why you have to use Basecamp? Have you called Garmin support? I have found them to be really helpful

Hi, apparently not enough internal storage to do a full map update and I don't get the option to install to the SD card.
Have to download to my laptop then Basecamp gives me the option to install the new map to the SD card.

Is there an option to change route colours that I may have altered by accident?

We have 2 x Garmin 780 Camper Satnavs. We bought 3 x 32Gb SD Cards, one for each Satnav, and a spare that is held ready formatted. When map updates are released, we copy the old map to the Spare SD Card and take the new map onto the existing Card, which we format, allowing a full installation, without the repeated problems of the download failing for lack of space. Repeat for the 2nd Satnav. The spare, formatted SD Card has avoided the problems of download stalling [we used to use Smarty in an area with awful signals, so a 7-8 hour shift to perform the update was far from unusual. We switched to Lebara 1 month ago, so looking forward to a quicker, smoother map update next time round!]

Are you using wifi to update when it doesn't give you the sd card option?

Yes. Wifi update via the GPS and also Garmin Express selecting download to device(GPS) do not give me install to sd card as an option

That's probably the problem, if you have a laptop/PC try using Garmin Express and connect via USB.

Just to clarify, I'm refering to the fact that you don't get the option to use the SD card, I've never had the SD card option on any of my Garmins (car, motorbike or camper) when using wifi but I do get the option when I use Garmin Express and a USB lead, also make sure you use the Garmin USB lead for the best results.

Not quite like your problem, but my 780 became unreliable after an update (via Garmin Express and a USB lead to laptop) frequently telling me that my maps were corrupt and eventually that there were no maps loaded, eventually it would / could not plan any route at all.
I contacted support which is basically an AI service after much frustrating toing and froing actually connected to a live person, which although took many conversations and exchanges of screen shots they accepted that the map update had bricked the device and despite the unit being over 3 years old decided that it was still within guarantee and agreed a replacement.
That in itself was a bit protracted but eventually the new head unit arrived.

Sorry for the delay. Garmin have got a map update so I've just started the update process using the latest version of Garmin Express.
So far the only options for installation is PC and/or Device (no mention of sd card).
Currently downloading at a glacial 1.8Mbps.

Update was successful. Don't know if it was installed on the internal memory or the sd card. Never got the choice.
Best thing is the routes are highlighted again.

Thanks for your replies
