After all the let’s knock the goverment by the media, everything is taking ages to happen, driving licences, passports taking months to get processed.
.
Credit where credit is due. Our civil service managed the following.

Driving licence renewal from application to receipt in post 4, yes four working days, Passports for both of us arrived this morning in 11, amazing you may think, yes eleven working days.…

So you are praising the civil service ?
Not being political but aren't H.M. Government (whoever that may be) using them as a scapegoat/football at present?

Think that was fast wait till you see how fast this gets shut down. 😁
Because 99% follow the rules here almost nothing ever gets shut down. Let’s hope that this thread can just continue as the OP in that it’s just praising that some things do happen quickly even in these strange times. Sadly if it becomes political it will obviously have to go.

Have to say the title and the first sentence is a little bit provocative and outwith forum rules. Naughty! 🤭 🙃

Perhaps survival of threads all depends on which way you lean? 🤔🤭 😉
I think thats a little unfair Marie. We try hard to make this forum as good a place to visit as possible and I certainly can’t even remember the last time a thread was removed and long may that continue. Whilst the easy way out is just to dump anything remotely controversial this has not so far been necessary here.

I know someone having to cancel their first ever cruise ship holiday due passport delay.

Why is everything broke these days?

Were these done on line or by post ?
As it seems things done on line are fairly quick, it seems to be things done by post that are taking ages

That's not the government. That's the civil servants. The ones Truss want to cut back on.
