Habitation door wiring.

Also, a common reason why a door won't respond to the central locking .... activation rod popped off. I think removing the door cover and checking out what's what would be a worthwhile exercise.

I think so to, I will get on it and report here.

I dare say if you know the make and model there will be an electrical diagram somewhere on line that could help you .

Or even a member with the same Moho.
I've managed to find someone with the same moho on this site when I did a search of posts with my model on it and sent them a message ( Wilfyboy) Ace Airstream 630ew - He was very helpful and confirmed its meant to have central locking on all doors or at least his has, so this is a great boost.
I think from what everyone is saying even with just 2 wires its very possible its meant to have central locking on hab door.

Yesterday I removed the skanky vinyl wrap from bottom of my hab door - it was splitting and someone had painted over it badly and it just looked crap, in doing so I discovered door has been replaced with modified aluminium one sometime in the past as there was a recall on the Ace airstream's for door delamination which is why I just presumed mine was GRP when it infact it's aluminium, so this might mean the door actually does earth through the body !? . Once Ive finished the upgrades to hab interior I will be stripping door next.

Easy check ... With your meter on continuity, put a probe on a vehicle ground point and then tape the other probe on various points on the door ... Hinges, lock, visible screws, etc ands see if you get any buzzes.

If the original GRP door used two wires then the internal van wiring wouldn't suit a new ali door with a revised 3 wire lock. Maybe that's why the central locking doesn't work on that door now?
Would they bother changing the locking system from 2 wire to 3 just because they could? Maybe but sensibly they'd stick with the 2 wire because otherwise they'd have to change the switch and wiring (harness) too.
It'll be interesting when you start digging deeper (y)

That's very true, I didn't think of this.

I have the same on my Autotrail, the wiring is supposed to be for central locking, with a switch above the drivers seat, so that the habitation door can be locked from the front. We had so much trouble with the habitation door locking itself, we decided to disconnect the wires. It was less trouble to manually lock the hab door than to realise the door had locked itself with the keys inside!

Yeah apparently these motorhomes (Ace Airstream) had quite a few electrical gremlins when they were produced, mainly lights going on & off and heating system pleasing itself when it should operate, they were all down to the Hab control panel being faulty and there were quite a few fixes inc just disconnecting things and converting to manual op only. Apparently now theres a company who redesigned the circuit board in the control panel to overcome all faults which I'm temped just to buy incase mine starts playing up.
If your control panel is the same as one in picture this could maybe be issue as they were renowned for being a problem, that bad Ace only used them for 2 or 3 years.

Thanks for the info, but as I said, we have an Autotrail with a different control panel. We’re happy just locking the door with the key, and then we know that we have the key with us, and not left inside the van somewhere!

Apparently there was a few different makes of motorhomes with same CP, fortunately not your Moho. 👍👍

Did some investigation work into the 2 wires going to hab door.
On the vehicle side of connections I got my test lamp and connected to both, no signal when operating remote locks on or off, on cab. I then attached my test lamp to a known good habitation earth and then tested each wire doing same with still no results, so it appears whatever its meant to feed in the door it isnt getting power anyway. We are easily a foot at least of snow at moment so still haven't stripped door to see what wires actually feed.
