Has anyone bought new specs online?

I do need them to darken though Neil, I'm a sensitive soul, bright light makes my eyes water and I sneeze like crazy, not what you want when driving.

I had never thought that I should try them again until I was typing the reply Kev. I doubt I will be walking into many dark rooms from a bright outside these days so wouldn’t have the same problem now :)

I didn't think that Reactolites or Transitions worked through vehicle windows 🤔🤔

They do if the suns is directly on them, but otherwise no but they do outside so I still need them otherwise I'll be sneezing etc before I set off, in the car I'm mainly shielded by the tinted screen,

I ask as Specsavers don't seem to be able to get my prescription right, I don't know if it the actual test that is wrong or the manufacture.

So I went into Vision Express yesterday and got a price for some news glasses, Re-glaze my existing frames, Bi-Focal with tint and scratch proofing £210

So I looked online and the prices are massively cheaper, I do some old one so I will still be able to see, but wondered if anyone on her had done it and with whom, and what they thought of them.
I have used https://www.firmoo.com/#UP_win=1046&content=8 very good cases, toolkit & spares & good service from far east. The last pair was British, they were fast, cheep & sent frames to try. https://specscart.co.uk/ would recommend both

I bought some varifocals online for the first time from Goggles4you with transition lenses and all coatings for about £45, delivered in about a week. They are okay so I bought a second pair with different frames. You cannot really go wrong at that price - Specsavers wanted £300 for the the same. o_O(y)

I seems if you just want straight forward plain lenses it a saving but for more it's not really viable.

I asked about re-glazing existing frames when last in Vision Express. It's cheaper to get new frames & lenses than just re-glaze.
If you're a cheapskate like me and choose the frames that it.
When I get new reading glasses I get one pair of the cheapies from Vision Express, and loads more from an online supplier, usually whoever Money Saving Expert says has good deals at the time.

I buy reading 1.5 specks from the £1 shop, still having trouble reading next doors paper through his window. 😂

I’ve worn specs since I was four! The advent of the cheap online suppliers has been a real plus for me, I can buy lots of pairs of glasses for bugger all. So, there’s always a spare pair in the car, the camper, the shed, the bike etc.
At £6 a pair (plus more for sun specs), what’s not to like?
Sure they’re cheap and cheerful, but they do the job!

How did they get the focal points right for your eyes, do they have software you use on your device to get alignment correct for varifocals?

You input your prescription and pupil centre distance.
Thought they had something like SpecSavers use on the iPad uploaded so you could do it remotely for a minute there 👍

I would recommend Goggles for u having used them for the last few years. I find frameless varifocals perfect from them and nice and light.

I buy mine from goggles4you my last pair were £76 varifocal, tinted and reacolite which I find great when we are in Spain. They make them in America but delivery was quicker than Specsavers and they were spot on.
