Has anyone got an LG TV and uses a thumb drive to record TV?

I've tried two different drives and I get these messages on screen, I've never tried it before.

I've tried formatting both to Fat32 and NTFS with the same result.

If I can make this work it solves all my problems.

We had an Lv in one of our previous vans ! Couldnt make it record to thumb drive but did manage to play some prerecorded films that brother in law did for us

Connect the USB storage device to the [USB input] port on the back of the TV.

Use a USB memory of 32 GB or less or an external storage device of 2 TB or less.

You don't say what capacity device you're attempting to use.
 
A few post on Google say it a cow to do and not very reliable.

A 16gb and a 56gb so far.
 
Yes, it's fine, Tom I had some of my videos on it, and they played fine. I also played MP3s in the car; I also did a full format both types, not just the quick one.
 
Possibly when i get back home.
