My van has been off the road for a fair bit of time now, suffered cabin fever before now, handled that fairly well,!but this is different this time, I went to a meet the weekend past and roughed it in a normal van, but had a good enough time but on reflection it’s the first time in about 5 years or so that I have not had the van at all .
I really have and do miss it ,does this mean I’ve got the bug?
Any one else had yhis dilemma?
Be interesting to find out stories

Don’t know if this fits but we took a fortnights Holliday using planes and fancy hotels and the whole time I was away all I could think was I’d rather be away in the van somewhere nice for two weeks than stuck in a hotel. Do you think that’s the bug

Yes I went to the meet last year at the Navigation Inn at Bugsworth and I booked into the B&B as my van was off the road I did feel really isolated even though the gang were just down on the carpark.

I get stressed and anxious when my T4 is in the garage for a day. It is my everyday vehicle though.

Its bad enough when we have a weekend we stay home Gordon never mind not having it anyway. I just sit there thinking we could be somewhere else as I doze off on the sofa with tv and laptop :(

I feel for you matey but hopefully not going to be much longer :)

No, apart from the first 9 months of it`s life when it spent more time back at the dealers getting faults repaired than it did with us

After that i got banned from the service centre for threatening the service manager because he said the faults were down to me

Ron hurt his foot in 2015 and this is the first time we have been to a meet since then and done a lot of driving, it was parked outside the house for all that time and we could not use it (I only drive automatics and it is a bit big for me) so I felt the same way, had the van but could not use.

Our Bessacarr had an extended stay in Fiat summer 2016 whilst they tried to work out what was wrong. Given we full time 16 nights without our home and a dog could’ve been a major issue. Fortunately I had the keys to the Aged Ps house and they were in The States. A quick email informed them that we were going to ‘look after’ the house for them!
But we felt very uneasy and a sense of being out of kilter as it reminded us how much we love our lifestyle.

Mine has been of road for 2 weeks due to mot fail, fixed now and trying again thursday, needed because of t/bar to haul trailer for building work.

Had a VW that went to have a "tidy up". The next time I saw it, was minus the furniture cos it needed more welding than originally thought. It never came back:( That must have been over two years.

Yes again today it failed 4th mot on poor left rear brake dispite new shoes master cyl, w/cylinder etc, never had trouble before.

Use them or lose then Trev, use them or lose them ................................. so i`ve been told.

I can sympathise with you all for your loss of mobile holiday venues. We have been without our Hymer now for 14months due to PPP, dodgy 'specialists' and inferior working practices carried out by alleged professionals. We have missed the summer, the weather, the camaraderie and all the vacations and places we love to visit for the last year.
We do have alternative transport but after only a few months of Helga the Hymer last year we realised what we had been missing, then the dreaded 5th gear Gremlins put a stop to all of that fun.
Hopefully soon we will be back on the road.
