Headlight deflectors or don't bother ??

I don't know how my van passed it's test yesterday, the indicator lenses were an advisory last year, they are much worse this year as are the headlight lenses, but no advisory, I'd replace them but £250 a pop is way too much for a bit of plastic.

Just polish them up with g3 or something similar

I might but no rush. I meant to do it before but it breaking down screwed that up.

On our Fiat Ducato its fitted with from the factory LED bulbs that don't have an angled left/right beam, its equal on both sides (tested by driving up to a wall with the lights on) So fitting deflectors will only impair your lights making it dangerous. I cant find anything online to explain the law

Just in case anyone is interested, I took the deflectors but never fitted them, just turned the beam to lowest setting, whilst in spain I asked a guardia civil agent about it while at the services and he said don't worry

Most foreign headlights dip vertically downwards so don't need convertors. Most UK headlights dip down and to the LEFT: great in UK to give more light to the kerbside BUT a danger on the continent where light is directed into drivers eyes. And even if they didn't need them, would two wrongs make a right?

Don't drive at night! Also don't drive through any tunnels where you need headlights on; don't suffer any disasters which require you to go to hospital at night; don't allow any nasty virus to arise which might necessitate an overnight drive to a Channel port so that you can return home urgently; ensure that any accident you are involved in is attended by police who don't object to you breaking the law of their country.

All to save £5 on a piece of plastic film!

My Sprinter has symetrical LED headlights so no need for beam deflectors, it's LHD and been through 2 DVLA inspections without any issues.
