Heart bypass

I'm off to the docs at 10m,had this pain in my arm for about two months, doesn't bother me much jsut curious to know what it is, been to physio and they were stumped, Docs then Xray I expect.

The post mini stroke regime continues to build; GP tomorrow for BP and Bloods sample; local hospital on 6th April for 'various tests during the afternoon'; and back to the hospital on 20th April to be tagged with a 72 hour electrocardiograph monitor, which should just about leave time to drive down to Hereford for the Rally on 27th April. Fingers crossed that that will be the final check and that we can actually get away in the M/Home for some peace and quiet, apart from te regular rattling of the pills bottles ... :D

Hi I will require a quadruple heart bypass my health at moment is good walking 5/6 kilometers every day with no discomfort. Has anyone had same experience travelling and can you recommend a pre existing medical insurance cover tia
I have need specialist insurance for nearly 20 years and I have been using JustTravelCover.com for a few years, and find cover and premiums better than other companies. They specialise in covering pre-existing conditions. They offer single trip and annual cover and can tailor policies to trip durations of 30/45/60 days of cover. I have renewed recently and paid £295 for an annual policy covering European trips up to 45 days and it also includes cruise holidays.

A lot of my friends have started using them too.

To save time I would advise phoning them without trying to get a quote online, because once you declare a pre-existing condition online you will be told to phone in for your quotation. The number is 08002942969.

They are usually running promotions with discounts from 7-10%, so make sure you ask.

Travel insurance is a "computer says no" for me too. I'm happy to travel in Europe and have just returned from a trip to Canada which I did with my fingers crossed 🤞😉
I've been doing the same all my life and have never taken out my own health or breakdown insurance, preferring to wing it and survive on my wits. I've been lucky and have always arrived home even though I've experienced the odd "OK smart ar8e, what are you going to do now" moment. 😳

I suspect that I've finally reached an age where it's time to consider taking out some form of insurance for longer distance European travel. 🤔

My Jan 2020 heart attack in Spain involved an air ambulance transfer to the regional hospital, 3 stents fitted in 2 separate sessions, 6 nights in hospital, ECGs aplenty, extension of our holiday stay by 2 weeks+ to cover the 28 days driving ban, and cancellation of the return ferry and rebooking. Travel insurance process added to the stress [including the 'send the documents to us when you have returned to Scotland and we'll tell you whether you were covered for the journey you just completed', yes seriously, because email was down in Benicarlo after storm damage], but they paid for everything, including the 28 days post hospital discharge medication.

Exactly the reason to need insurance. We’ve never had it before, but with my history and Sue’s extreme difficult conditions it is a must have, despite costing £574 I think it was last year, multi Euro trip with LV

That wouldn’t be a problem as by going to Turkey I would be saving up to £20k of the dental price in the U.K. consultant was really anti me leaving the country though

I seem to remember that one of the questions on the travl insurance asked if you were travelling for medical treatment . So I suspect they don't want to cover that.

And yet, the 7.3 million English NHS Waiting List has encouraged many Brits to travel to the Baltic States for treatment and rapid physiotherapy [24/36 hours after the operation], despite travel for medical treatment being specifically excluded from travel policies. These people are presumably ignoring the prohibition, or are saving the expsnse of the policy in the first place? I'm not blaming them, if you're in extreme pain and face a 2 or 3 years Waiting List or pay £6,000 for hip replacement and physio in 3 weeks time, why not go for it?

He said if worst happens and I need the op while over there it would be between £60 and £70k so I would suspect any premium would be a lot more. Not going anyway lol
