They have been using hemp here for donkeys ears, my old school had hemp/cement roof blocks & celing tiles, all started when asbestos was found to be a killer.

There used to be huge fields of it down Aldershot way, I believe it was MoD land and grown for rope making but thr rope bit might have been urban myth

I may be old but not quite that old. Hemp fields I am talking about were still there in 71 when I moved north. We used to contemplate raiding the fields but patrols weren’t gentle if they caught you

New shops on the old rope works in belfast, real rope is not seen much these days.

Not long after the Eden Project opened we went there and while walking around the outdoor area I happened to recognise/notice an area growing hemp. There were many signs saying NO THC or similar. What really surprised me were the people who didn't notice
