Highlands of Scotland and fuel

Hi. We've got plans to visit the Highlands of Scotland later this month. Everything is booked etc but we're reading reports of fuel station closures in the highlands on the news.
Has anyone got any information on the real situation? The news can be so misleading causing drama these days and not intouch with reality I find. Is it really as bad as the papers portray?
Is this fuel shortage short lived as it has been here regionally?
I'm also trying to think of solutions so any decent ideas shared will be very welcome. We do love the highlands and as this is our main holiday this year. This will be our second time there and dont need the stress before or during our trip if this is just a temporary situation I.e easter holidays.

Not exactly in the highlands but in NE Scotland nearish to Aberdeen. Apart from the high prices every station I have passed this week on my travels has had fuel (both petrol and diesel) with no queues anywhere.

If you're coming up the east coast, Asda & Sainsburys in Kirkcaldy both have diesel, and prices are as good as you can get at present; Asda did run out of fuel 2 weeks ago, but OK now; the company has said that any shortages will be because there is a tanker en route, so a few hours closure at most. There is also a Morrisons at the other end of Kirkcaldy [with LPG pump], so a full tank in Fife should give you 350-400 miles before you need to panic

Yes - MFG have accepted that Refillable Bottles are safe after lobbying that Autogas 2000 [now Gasit] at Thirsk co-ordinated. Guidance issued to staff. Best not to arouse suspicion by opening the gas cupboard [where I store my protective gauntlets], so ensure gas turned off before arrival, and have the gauntlets inside the cab so that the operation is no more than connect gun to skirt valve, fill, disconnect and pay

There was a report in the local paper today about fuel shortages but it was just scaremongering. Our local Tesco station closed for an hour or so yesterday, as it always does when a tanker is on the forecourt replenishing the tanks. Presumably for safety reasons plus if a tanker is in there is no room for cars! Obviously somebody contacted the paper to tell them it had no fuel! Went past toady and apart from the fact diesel is now up to 186.9 everything was running as normal.

No fuel at Asda, Langley Mill, Derbys. at 1630 ish today. All cordoned off. Didn't see any others closed on the way home but they are the cheapest around there, so maybe why.
