How close would you park

There would have to be something very special locally for me to park at one of those aires. Even then I'd probably drive on. I'd rather stay at a service station :)

This is the Aire at Erquy in Brittany in August quite a few years ago. We rode past it on the Scooter to have a look. Bonkers!

We were staying on a wild spot just up the road. Only us on it. The French dont seem to be that bothered in the main about cramming vans in. In fact they seem to prefer to be right next to another van. I remember starting my own aire on a huge piece of land in the Alps one summer which unfortunately was visible from the road down a pass and we were eventually joined by four or five other vans. They could have gone to different corners 200 yards apart but of course they all decided to park in a row next to us.

let me see next to Robmac 30mtrs ?? anyone else 3/4mtrs any closer and I cannot get my time out of my garage.

Yeah but you wouldn't need your heating on if you parked next to my van Annie.

Just keep the fire extinguisher handy.

Now that sounds like a perfect solution.

But to be fair, I haven't set fire to my van once this year.

Yet.

Never again Mike its a disaster waiting to happen, If i could have driven straight out i would have , i came away a day early as it was .They had no control over who was coming in as tickets were not checked .I see this year they say they are splitting fields up ie motorhomes and caravans- tents and cars - disabled ,see whether they can control that :Flushed_Face_Emoji::Flushed_Face_Emoji:

Ill give it one more go ..hopefull all will be good this year as the festival it self was good.

That’s strange I couldent understand why the French Germans parked so close to each other last year we were in Disney land Paris the carparks are the size of airports with loads of room but they were all still stuck in one corner like sheep some of them couldent even open the windows weird.
