How do you keep your floor clean in van

At the entrance we use a dirt Matt from Dunhelm, pricey but does the job and goes in the washing machine.

Laid laminate flooring with thin insulation underneath, in the seating area, and should have done the same in the kitchen, so now I have a grubby carpet. We also have an entrance mat to wipe shoes and they are then normally removed if we intend to stay in the van for a while.

Carpets on carpets..
We have a loose (not fixed but fitted) carpet but use a variety of other carpets on top.
These are simply lifted and shaken or beaten outside.
Thus the main carpet only needs attention say once a month and the real floor 2x a year but no dog and as others have posted a suitable door mat outside and on the step.
We are considering a new main carpet but only based on age rather than condition.
The vehicle/carpet is 12 years old and we have been using it fulltime for 6 months (summer ...yes wimps) for the last 5 years

I don't keep the floor clean. If you need info on that you would need to speak to the wife, and she never comes on here. Seriously though we fitted cushionfloor as soon as we got our van as we have a Yorkie, use throw down mats in cold weather for the feet on floor, never seems to need a lot of cleaning, swept regularly and mopped off if it gets marked. Also take our shoes off at door.

We are always wiping the floor in the van esp at the entrance due to muttley, was thinking on putting a carpet down for this winter but after the frog meeting even though it’s not muddy I still brought in with me .Now trained as I am I removed shoes at door most of the time ,was on my own ,but after two days I was amazed at how much grit /dirt I dragged in,used a nylon broom thing the better half has and thought if it was carpet it would ve been worse
What and how do you deal with this question ?
I have removed the original carpets and bought a couple of cheap runners from ALDI, easy enough to remove and shake but also carry a reclaimed rubber sweeping brush cheap and simple. If you happen to go to any of the Out And About Motorhome shows by Warners the MMM people seek out Godfrey he has these brushes made from recycled car tyres, I prefer the one made from Michelin they corner better in the wet!!

I used to fit a carpet in my van then throw it away when it was too bad to clean. Now use carpet tiles , if one gets really bad just replace it ! Tip from Rugby Ken ! Like the warmth of something under my feet, so does the dog. Use a dog brush to lift all the hairs , then small battery vac or pan and brush.....works well till I get home for a big clean up...?

try flotex carpet tiles they clean very easy and are the most hard wearing you can buy

That's an easy one to answer .. in my Stealth Sprinter the floor is of a layer or two of cardboard, when the top layer is done with dispose and reveal the next one... meet posh me :)
