HOW DO YOU STAY WARM IN VAN DURING NIGHT

Truma blown air heating and fixed lpg tank, on low setting. Its safe, very quiet and uses very little gas. Refilling is very cheap at 55p/litre. Much cheaper than electrical hook up.

Our gas heater gave up the ghost 4 years ago and we were quoted £300 plus to fix, so we bought a couple of 5ft square approx Fleeces from Tescos (£15), we have 6ft square bed, and when it's freezing, we are as warm as toast in bed sleeping between the fleeces in the double sleeping bag, we do have a cuddle as well of course! Did have to get the tea on quick though, to warm the van up. 3 years ago Jan 1st in Rugby, it was -3 or -4 and we couldn't believe how warm we were. (Peugot Boxer 1998)

Have diesel heating on in evening, put extra duvet ready to pull across if it goes cold in night.Put heating on about 7.00 if needed before we get up.Dont keep heating on overnight because of noise of the fan.

Now that would be telling, I'll just roll over and ask!! No seriously hot water bottle & a generous malt!

This weekend I’ve left the heating on very low all the time and it has been very comfy and snug in bed even with the cold snap this morning
Went to Morrison’s filled up with lpg £7’79 think it was 12*60 ltrs no bad for constant fun imho
try a onzie keeps my back warm ok,pj

I put on a thick fleece hoody. It keeps my elbows and neck warm. I don’t like sleeping with the heating on so that only goes on when my nose gets cold!

Hello folk
I've Truman blown air, off grid not good on batteries. How safe is it to leave the oven on. I've got the monoxide alarm. Does anyone else do similar? Graham

If we stay in the motorhome in the evening (Mercedes Hymer B680) we sometimes put on a small fan heater, just to take the chill off, but turn it off when we go to bed. We brought a duvet some time back from Dunelm, 15 tog I seem to remember, we actually sweat sometimes.

Our boiler is under the foot of the bed. If , in cold weather, I set the water heater on the 40°c setting it keeps us toasty in bed. The heater controls are mounted on the bed base so if the morning is very cold I can turn up the space heating without getting out of bed.

Wired in a cheap room thermostat to our diesel heater so that if temperature drops below a certain level the heater turns on (and cuts out if goes above

Spot on can't see the point of being cold .

Heater on to maintain about 20°C so getting up in the morning is easier, plus electric blankets.

Grrrr ... we've had the gas heating on each night and probably used about 4kg of (Calor Gaslight) propane over the weekend. So more than sixteen quid of the weekend by my reckoning. One day, I might fit a Gas-it system -- but LPG stations are a bit thin on the ground where I live.
Hi Goeff, even though they are thin on the ground, you don't need them often, also, I assume you're going to other places in the van. Get the Gas-it or Gaslow, IMHO.

Been using my gas fire much more since we got the LPG but still not confident enough to leave it on all night, I can put it on without getting out of bed in the morning so not so bad .

I don't like bedroom hot or even particularly warm so Can moans when I ask her to turn heating off when I go to bed :)
