Hymer Mli winter fridge vent covers?

I am thinking of getting some winter fridge vent covers for my Hymer Mli. However the information and photos I have from Travelworld is that these particular “covers” fit underneath the external grill - ie the grill is removed, “covers” fitted and grill replaced. Seems a bit of a faff to me and never come across this way of fitting covers before. My previous vans the covers simply clipped on the outside.
Has anybody come across this type of “cover” and if so how easy to fit?

Thanks, Tony

Our Bessacarr had that system. Seen it done and seemed simple enough. A couple of screws to remove the grills.
We never bothered to fit them and don’t have a set with our Adria.

Seems to me if your intent on doing that you may as well make you own fron stiff card or freezer bags gaffer taped to the rear of the grills

Thanks Katherine and to be honest I’m not sure if they’re worth having. Our last two vans came with them so I used them in winter (and more importantly when hosing the van down to keep the water out!) but I don’t know if they did any good. Now the wind has died down a bit I’ve looked at the vents and they’re dead easy to remove - 2 sliding clips. But the jury is still out on this one.

I’m having the same thoughts - perhaps cut a sheet of thin plastic to fit. Thanks

And I’m sure to buy the supplier will add the obligatory ‘it’s a motorhome’ 300% markup. Still reeling from Domestic fridge replacement 2 door bottle shelves at £75!!!!

Made up our ones but put a length of ribbon through the grilles to remind me the blank plates were inside the vents(top tip imho)

I would not use cardboard in an enclosure containing a gas flame. Just my cautious (over cautious?) approach. The external covers are held in place by two easily opened clips so should not be overly difficult to fit.

Leave mine blanked off all year round but they are hangovers from when van has a 3 way :)

What are these and do you need them, my new motorhome didn't come with any as far as I know, we intend touring in Europe in Winter, William need to get a set. Thanks

Eventually made a pair up by cutting down the external covers I kept from our previous Frankia. They fit a treat and are very easy to put on and remove. Only problem is that it has been so warm in our neck of the woods that I don’t need them yet. It’s not dropped below 14deg C at night in NE Scotland for the past week although they say that’s about to change.
