Rolls Royce social club, Barnoldswick, Yorkshire / Lancashire border, BB18 6HJ, 5 Nights

All vans will be on tarmac hardstanding

This Meet has been arranged for us to remember Christine (Molly 3) who sadly left us a few weeks ago. She and Barry are known by nearly everyone on both of our forums and they both attended virtually every rally, she will be sadly missed. We will be using the clubhouse bar, and having chats about how we remembered Christine, also plenty of cuddles for Barry, I suspect there will be a few tears, but Christine would also have liked us to have some smiles and laughter to remember her.

We will be sharing the clubhouse with the club's members, so it will be difficult for us to talk as a group, therefore I suggest individual members to sit down with Barry when you get the chance, then you can tell Barry about your memories of Christine, also members can chat among themselves about Christine, but also join in the clubs Friday quiz, and enjoy the artist on Saturday evening. I would like to think this how Christine would like us to pay
our respects, and never forget how we have lost one of our loveliest members. We will never forget Christine. RIP we will miss you

Some info about the venue

The clubhouse is open for us every night except Monday

There is food and drink available in the clubhouse

Thursday, Pie night

Friday, Fish & Chips night followed by Quiz

Saturday evening, There will be a singer or group on stage

Sunday from 12.00pm There is a great Sunday lunch with different options. Note the club closes at 20.00pm on Sunday

The area has lots and lots of walks as well as a great town with shops, cafés, pubs, ( I can well recommend the Irish bar, great food and lovely host. 15 min walk )

We will have access to, Freshwater, Elsan point, rubbish disposal, and toilet

The cost will be £9 per unit per night, please have your payment ready in an envelope on arrival.

Sorry no Firepits, and dogs are not allowed in the clubhouse but are welcomed everywhere else, please clean up after your pet

I have been asked by quite a few people who did not know Christine but would like to attend the meet, and yes it is fine for you to attend and just do your own thing and have a chat with other members should you wish

If you want to attend, please ask on this thread only
Sorry Jeff & Barry , we need to pull out of this meet , hope you all have a great meet and raise a glass to Christine in style A&J

Hi Jeff, it's looking like it will be Saturday afternoon before we arrive, not Friday, Elaine has seen a consultant and he has arranged to give her some injections Saturday morning at Spire hospital, Sorry about this.

Not a problem, see you both on Saturday (y)

Where were you lot?

I arrived at the social club, gates on Coates Lane padlocked so went in search for another gate on Coates Lane, got stuck in a cul-de-sac, did a million point turn, reversing camera and mirrors all but obliterated by torrential rain, went further up Coates Lane, sharp left on a hump back bridge, over a canal, sharp right onto narrow road that looks like a dirt track, managed to turn round. Back onto Coates Lane, spot another gate to social club off the main road, pulled in, rang Baz, asked where is everyone to which he replied "it's NEXT weekend". Rang Izzy asked her to check on the calendar for the date that the Barnoldswick meet was penned in for. 18th Feb: Ral goes to Barnoldswick, Izzy to London. I asked her who wrote the entry, a long silence then a very quiet "me". Oh, tits, bum bloomin' 'eck.

And this was after the worse journey ever, driving through storm Eunice, MH getting pelted with debris, passenger mirror got knocked in by a flying branch so driving blind on the motorway until I reached a point I could safely stop.

Stopped the night at the social club, set off next morning, got hit by a blizzard on the M62, then torrential rain, took four and half hours to get back. If I thought going was bad, coming back was ten times worse, an absolute nightmare.

I am now looking for a new secretary!

I’m so so sorry to miss this as I have a previous appointment and then have to drive to Cheddar to collect an eBay purchase but will raise a glass to Chris over the weekend.

Hi Jeff, sorry we won't be able to make this one. The van is still in the garage, hopefully will be done by next week but then will need an MOT retest before we can get out. We will be thinking of you all, especially Baz and Christine, and hope to see you at Wills x

Hi Jeff sorry to say I won't be able to get there till Saturday. And that is depending on my Son helping with a care problem. I might make it Friday but that is a bit hit and miss so I am hoping for a deffo Saturday all being well. See ya.
.... Tom ....

You need to make it Tom, we need photos.🙂

While I'm here, I hope you all have a good weekend. I can't be there but I will raise a glass to Chris on Saturday.

Many thanks to Jeff for organising yet another great meet, made particularly good by the great people who attended, it was a really fun weekend. Also thanks to Big Dave, who. after extensive training by Jeff managed to complete the task of handing out leaflets and pointing vaguely in any direction when asked where to dump the waste. Keep up the good work mate, you may even be awarded a hi-vis vest if you can maintain such a high standard.
Thanks to the lovely Lorraine too.
A wary thank you to Earby Mick for turning four old farts into giggling teenagers by plying us with the most obnoxious shots, the whisky with chillies near blew my ears off.

A real shame Baz couldn't make it after a slight hiccup with the MH. We all missed you.
