Lad on the park ran over to ask what breed of Cockapoo is it. Think his mother had sent him. The number of people who ask if she is a Cockapoo is amazing. When you answer no they say well it looks like one. Wonder why 🤔😅 One guy actually queried us and got his phone out to prove she was a Cockapoo because it looked like his. Funny that. Think we might start taking a copy of the pedigree certificate with us 😂

Had a standard poodle many years ago . Wonderful dog

Think , common usage , mongrel is a random mixture .
Cross breed not random

Biggest problem they seem to have is a majority of them are nutcases. There are 5 different kinds of Cocker Spanials and they cross them with toy or minature poodles. The variations they get are amazing. Seems like some genes are more dominant than others so you have no idea what you are going to finish up with. Meet a couple the other day and they had theirs on a long lead. The dog was running round and round the guy totally out of control. When he stopped the dog just kept going until the guys legs were wrapped up in the lead and the dog couldn't move anymore. One of the times you wish you had a camera 😂

Easy mistake to make when a Poodle is not trimmed in a recognised fashion.

We take one out with us most days and get the opposite reaction to you because of how it looks. You can see it in the video iin the dog thread on here.

Our dog Roxxy is a Sprollie, Border Collie/Springer Spaniel crossbreed or another popular term these days is a 'hybrid dog', I wouldn't tell her she is a mongrel, she doesn't even think that she is a 🐕

Here are my two Derby the black one is a jackhuahua which is a cross between a jack Russel and a chihuahua a designer mongrel and Taya the brown one is a genuine mongrel according to our vet has
border terrier which gives her those distinctive bushy eyebrows
jack Russell because most small mongrels have JR somewhere in them
Dachsund because she has a longer than normal body and both on their computer in the box that says breed it says mixed.
plus she is a witches familiar because she has a wart on her head. 🤣🤣

We had a Ben, his mother was a friendly collie but dad was Heinze 57 based something, but he turned out to be the most wonderful animal and he cost us nowt

As said earlier, Standard Poodles are terrific dogs. Very intelligent, calm nature. We love them but strangely never owned one.

We occasionally see an owner who has 3 Parti-colored Standard Poodles. They are very impressive. He paid a lot of money for his first one then weirdly he found 2 more that were in Rescue Centres needing a new home. So he took them both on.

By the way, Parti coloureds are not a new fad. Solid colour poodles are the newer fad. Explanation here:

Wasn't aware of that.
Vet I attended in France had a black and white poodle . She described it as a Canadian poodle

I used to have a first generation cross black lab x blue merle collie. Everyone (including one vet and a dog trainer) thought he was a lurcher but I knew differently as I met both his parents.
Now I have a lurcher and everyone asks if she is a greyhound.
You can't win.

Hadn't heard of Parti Poodles before, very interesting.

I think I might be a mongrel.

Why is that boy trying to drown a duck, oh it says 'motorhomefun.thingy, that explains it

This Poodle is to intelligent. We have been throwing a ball for her and a reward when she returns. Didn't take long to teach fetch and drop. She has now worked out if you throw the ball in front she just has to wait for you to catch up 😘 Proof if you throw it behind she fetches it and brings it back. You certainly have to be one step ahead
