Japan air crash

For years there has been a fight to make the internal fittings like seats etc fireproof, never happened, pity about the crew on the other aircraft they hit turning onto the runway, they all died.

ATC will be to blame I suppose.

Whay dont they fitt barriers to on slips which wont open if an aircraft is close on radar, second, to little foam & water way to late, from my flying days you alwas looked before entering a main runway just in case of this problem.

I think there should be a 2 man check list before anyone gets landing or taxi instrutions, lights or barrier fitted on slip taxi ways should be manditory.

Not feasible or it would have been done already Trev.

Having a dual mode seems to be the issue.

I wonder whether the pilot was landing or auto pilot? The pilots usually have visual well ahead of touchdown. ATC should and will have to take responsibility…. Using just 1 runway for in and out flights is normally one of the reasons for delays to allow safety.
Glad I’m not flying anymore

A great source of accurate info.

It's not correct though, the last link (I think) gave the actual situation.

We wont know the full truth for a few years, but think only 3 things not correct, slip lights not working, no permission the enter main runway by traffic control, plane landing had no permission to do so.
