June 23 adventure.

It's not about the money, I'm very much a loner and always have been, liz has sort of caught that off me to a certain extent, I just hate the whole idea of camp sites, especially rules, I'm a none conformist I suppose.

You can still park up on a site and keep to yourself, it is not mandatory you have to communicate with whom ever is near to you, apart from good morning of course, courtesy costs nothing.

Yet you delude me, with all your post, here was me thinking you are a real chat-box 🤭
 
Liz calls me her little enigma, I make a choice of who I do or don't talk to, basically quite shy, introverted, having said that I can talk to total strangers and have just spent 20 minutes talking to two lads in two vans parked behind me, but I have a very high boredom threshold so I made my excuses, Liz, and came back to the van.

Forums are great, I have nothing to do with any of you, I try to be respectful, and fail, I try to help where I can and am duly punished, I think forums require a lot of input from members as threads have a short life usually, but I'm interested in everything so post new threads in the hope others may latch on and we chat, but on these 3 forums it doesn't seem to happen, almost zero likes or responses, the only judge I have.

I have mentioned why I'm like I am, so not going over that again.

True of course, but on some sites you get to listen to others kids, pets, arguments or music. If the site is badly run too late you've paid, too late to go elsewhere, with wild camping at the slightest whiff of anything we don't like we're gone, regardless of the time of day or night.

And of course if we did stay on a site that would kill our 100% achievement.

As I mentioned previous, nothing wrong with mixing wild camping along with site use, albeit a CCC CL or THS or any site.

Each to their own.
 
Oh, yes nothing wrong with that at all I'm glad sites exist, just not for me, I would use the facilities but for the nonsensical rules that I have to be a member, but more places for me to stay.

Plenty of campsites (including ones that are C&CC) are open to non-members.

I would go along with that. I think most people on a campsite seem to keep themselves to themselves anyway so if you DID go to a campsite hoping for a bit of a chat and knees up, you'd probably be disappointed!
 
I'm not interested in staying on a camp site neither is Liz actually she bought a book about wild camping before we used the tent to do it and she would go nuts if I suggested it so it ain't going to happen.

Each to their own, just not for us.
 
I have been in one site in ten years, west of Dublin a few weeks back, very nice and no rules as such, in fact it was so qt it was boring, and expensive, like Pudsey, not realy my thing but doable if needs must.

Open to non members, David, but at a premium! Last time I looked, the CAMH was £13per night premium, so 'you get your membership fee back after only 4 nights' as the gist of the marketing message had it ...

that's fair enough. need a reward for joining.
You can also get discounts in some shops for being a member of one of the camping clubs. 10% at Go Outdoors for a C&CC member. 10%(?) at Mountain Warehouse for a C&MC member I think, as a couple of examples.

whether people use those shops is of course a choice, just like being a member, but bought some stuff at Go Outdoors on Saturday and saved £6. (and no trev, it wasn't a jockey wheel for a trailer ;) )
 
Liz is available at £200 a go, no refunds, all sales are final, members only.

But CAMH was advertising sites, from £9.95 per night(1 person), and then you had to add the other people in your party, the pitch fee and the non member surcharge, so your £9.95 became north of £40 very easily ... The comments on this Forum and others showed how well received the 'Members' Offer' was ...

never been a member of CAMH or looked at their prices or sites so cannot comment :)
