June 23 adventure.

I filled up on Aberdeen this morning and bearing in mind I said I don't check the oil as I don't usually keep them this long, so bennet up and it was just on the end of the dipstick, so what oil to get dunno so look on the bonnet sticker, a waste of ink.

Read second line down.

I am at Tentsmuir Forest, Kev, and have 1 litre of 5w30 with me, if that's any good

Cheers Steve, filled up in Aberdeen, heading west now til we see a place we like, missed a steam fair on the way too.

Just a bend in the road after driving a long way and nowhere open for nosh, its a very backward country for food for people on the road so we raided the fridge.

Been a grim day though, woke up gas empty, needed motion lotion, then needed oil, got fool and hoil but no gas anywhere got a full ish 6kg so no real panic yet, finally got around to firing up the fridge about 2pm, its back down to 8.1c and dropping.

Need a 6kg cylinder Si, not got refillable on this van yet, but looking for a used set up, lifting one this morning has done my back in again.

Polite cough.

It's got froth on it Kev. A man's pint is more of a brown colour and has twigs floating in it. 😄

Not sure how far you’ve travelled from Aberdeen but when I was at Dee Valley Caravans in Drumoak (about 10 miles west of Aberdeen on A93 Braemar road) to get a 13kg cylinder the other day I noted that they also had 6kg replacement cylinders.

T'other side of the Grampian now, not worried Tony, been to a few places plenty got 6kg cylinders but no full ones yet.

Any oil will do to top up, i use a 10/40 semi, you should look at levels every week at least, 100 press ups and run round the parade ground twice.

I disagree Trev, it has low mileage 34k doesn't burn any and it has no leaks.

Mine has double that mileage Kev, and I have never needed to consider adding any between services. It’s a big motor, turning slowly and relatively unstressed. It’s the current edition of smaller, more powerful motors you need to really be more concerned with. Like the 1.0ltr 3 cylinder turbo Ford eco-boost thing that is a throw away unit that can’t be repaired.

Not sure which you have Si, this is the 2.2 100 multijet, not sure if it's still the transit puma engine but has chain not belt for the cam.

I might treat it to a service when we get home and put full synthetic in it.

Mine is 2.3 130 (160) multijet Fiat/Iveco motor. Yours is the Transit (from memory)

pm me your reg.no. and I’ll get the oil spec checked for you.

Just having a coffee in Grantown on Spey.
