I can see this would be very useful on nearside when you are waiting at a t-junction to turn right and the angle is acute, particularly when there is no front passenger to stick their head out of the window,
 
Paul I don't need it on the near side as I've a large window in the slidding door so I have a very good angle to see out of it.Its the offside I carnt see the acute angle.
 
My nephew has this on his Range Rover

Looks good.
I've been looking into something like this as due to the thick vertical window bar on the Ducatos and the postion I need the drivers seat in, the Drivers Door Mirror is more ornamental than anything :(

I have even been considering those 360 degree surround camera systems as they can be very affordable on a DIY install and also usually give a automatic recording feature, which could come in very useful
