I can see this would be very useful on nearside when you are waiting at a t-junction to turn right and the angle is acute, particularly when there is no front passenger to stick their head out of the window,

Paul I don't need it on the near side as I've a large window in the slidding door so I have a very good angle to see out of it.Its the offside I carnt see the acute angle.

I've been looking into something like this as due to the thick vertical window bar on the Ducatos and the postion I need the drivers seat in, the Drivers Door Mirror is more ornamental than anything

I have even been considering those 360 degree surround camera systems as they can be very affordable on a DIY install and also usually give a automatic recording feature, which could come in very useful
