La Manga Cartagena

any tips for aires, wild camping or best sites as this is our first stay in this area?

There are quite a few areas where we have wildcamped along the La Manga strip, seem to remember a nice little place at the 10km marker (all along the strip they have surf boards with the kilometre on it. If you drive right to the end just over 18 kms there are a couple of largish areas where you can park. There are few areas before you go along the strip such as at Mar de Cristal. It is about 4 years since we were there but we are hoping its still ok. Make sure that you are stocked up with supplies if you are going to the end of the strip because there aren't many places open. We are hoping to be down that way in mid March.
There is the Camping La Manga, we have stayed on there a couple of times but it is a bit marmite, some people love it others can't stand it but as we wanted to use our inflatable canoe it was nice to leave it set up & get out when ever we fancied it.

We didn't like La Manga at all, it felt like a really weird place to us. Further south there's a lovely wild camping spot, called La Azohia.

I'm actually at the La Azohia WC now and it's a fab spot.

Sure I read somewhere they have stopped any wildcamping at La Azohia?
Know from past experience some of these places can change day to day. We were once moved off a nice wildcamping spot by the police only to find a couple of days later everybody was back there. Think its a case that some local complains then the police just move everybody. Found that most of the police are a bit indifferent to people wildcamping in general & providing your not obviously 'camping' (on ramps, awning out, tables & chairs, you can be classed as just overnighting which isn't illegal to do in any legitimate parking spot. Have to find some stickers I made quoting the Spanish legislation saying I am parked & not camped.

La Azohia Is Parking only now I was hoping to put an update from my brother in law who is on the local council but a Gentleman read my post on Wild camping and phoned the council and was rude to my sister in law who works there and speaks English I have been ask not to put any more post about it on these sites. Sorry all

There's a guy here in a massive van, been here since October, apparently. Some people been here a week. It's the small bit of land overlooking the sea. There's more land over the road with vans on and a huge park up as you come into the place.
