Possibly the biggest threat to the future use of our vans are LEZs. Euro 7 standards are on the way so even very new vans will be affected, Euro 5 vehicles were unusable in some places at 3 years old.
At present only cities in the UK appear to have plans, but Scotland alone has over 40 areas under consideration.

I think the idea of keeping a vehicle for over 10 years, is now, unfortunately a thing of the past, and at the moment it appears there is nothing available for MH'ers that is future proof.

Three Cities near me are on the list, Birmingham, Nottingham and Derby, I checked our vehicles and both cars are OK because they are petrol, our van which is a 2002 2.8JTD will be exempt until the 26th of October 2025 because it has disabled tax class,

. Keepers of vehicles registered with a 'disabled' or 'disabled passenger vehicles' tax class will benefit from a grace period after the ULEZ starts. They'll be exempt from the ULEZ charge until 26 October 2025 as long as their vehicle doesn't change tax class. (Vehicles operated by or on behalf of TfL will not benefit from this grace period.) The French system is nonsense as you can be "barred" on a daily basis dependent on weather conditions and local "factory" emissions.
The German system is fine and you can simply avoid some town centers as you need to.
Forcing "polluting vehicles" to find another route is good..Provided there is another route.

Most of us prefer to avoid town centers anyway !

Perhaps a bit early to panic over Euro 7 they haven’t yet finished phasing in Euro 6. Euro 6e is due in 2021.
