Hi all,

Our lippert beds are making a horrendous noise when moving up and down, I know these things are designed for less use than we give them so just wondering if anyone knows how to service or maintain them ?

I cant find anything online at all

Any help would be appreciated

You don't say which Lippert beds you have, but these manuals give brief suggestions re preventive maintenance:

If not adequate, why not contact Lippert?

Hi Thanks for that, I do have the manual but doesnt give much details, I will check these out, thank you.

I believe they are euro loft smart beds,

Many thanks

Lippert will almost certainly not help and will tell you to speak to a dealer. They have a history of being pretty unhelpful.

Hi I have a Lippert drop down bed in our van. On the face of it they loo pretty decent. But delve deeper and they are not that well put together. In terms of maintenance there is not a lot to do but what there is could be important.

I would take the mattress off and this gives access to the winding mech. If yours basically winds up using car seat belt webbing.....the winding mech spans the width of the bed there are two plain bearings on the ends and one adjacent to the motor. I lubricated these with silicone spray and that seemed to stop most of the squeaking. I also sprayed the width of the bearing surfaces where the webbing exits the bed.i doubt that will do much in the longer term.

I then tightened all the fixings associated with the winding mech and this is where I was disappointed with the construction in that in the main it's all held together with self threading screws which to me are just inappropriate. Being prone to slackening off.

I also had an issue where the webbing had jumped across the winding mech sleeve. This caused the plastic bracket that joins the bed to the steel slider that runs up and down the track to break. A bit of investigation showed that the bracket is appalling designed with equally rubbish implementation. £118 from the dealer.... So I scanned the part, I redesigned it and got a mate to 3d print it. I then used all 3 screw holes (rather than the one original) threaded each hole and fitted the bracket back in place with machine
screws.

Bed works fine....until the next bit breaks.

That's great thank you, our motors are fixed in the ceiling and then the web is bolted to the bed frame, so basically in reverse to what you have, I will have a good look and see if I can see what you did.

Thanks so much 🙏
