Exactly so.
This is why I am intrigued how the Victron kit works. I think it must be programmed on the resistance, not the voltage difference, so when the resistance between the two posts on the fuse goes above say 0.2ohms, the system could flag a fuse outage (as the resistance will be measured though the 'alternative' route to the two posts, involving various cables and the battery itself)
I think Victron use the Fuse resistance to determine the maximum charge current or something on their BMS device - so putting in a 100A fuse automatically limots charge to 80A or something? can't recall the details off the tip of my head (been a long day!)
