Little and large

Stunning wee van got chatting to the owner he’s had it 22 years it’s over 50 years old not a bit of rust and it’s never been restored. Came from isle of white so maybe no road salt.

Looks like you have the cloud we had yesterday, braw at Machrihanish now with a cooling midge gitrido breeze!

We are still down near Padstow it’s still quite warm with a bit of cloud. it’s starting to clear now. Was gonna try surfing but can’t get a big enough surf board I might try water skiing with two surfboard’s. 😎
Try twa 8 x 4s

One extreme to the other. When my van grows up I’ll let it get a retro vw tattoo just like this. View attachment 63856
That brings back memories. Our family car was one of those. We bought it brand new in autumn 1960 (so it was a few years older then the one in the photo).

It's lovely to see one that hasn't been lowered a spline or two to look 'cool'.

I learned to drive in ours, passed my test in it. We went away about every other weekend, and toured around Europe for a month each summer, mostly wild camping (no Aires in those days).

Although it could go faster, it was happiest cruising at no more than 40mph. The little 1200cc engine was no fire breathing dragon.

I think we had it for about twenty years. No fuel gauge, no windscreen washers, but fantastic ventilation on the road. It'd be worth a fortune if we still had it.
