Little roody overnight stop Chester

We're off to Chester zoo next Sunday and thinking of making a weekend of it and staying Saturday night. is the little roody car park near the race course still used for overnight stops ? As not been for a few years
 
We stayed there for two nights a couple of months ago, it's a great spot for visiting Chester.

It was £8 or £9 for 24 hours

Here is a list of parking charges there..

Little Roodee, Chester, CH1 1SL (provides parking for car and coaches)
  • Opening hours: 24 hours
  • Tariff (coaches): for information about charges for coaches visit the Coach and motorcycle parking
  • Tariff (arrivals before 6pm): £5 - upto 12 hours and £8 - 12 to 24 hours
  • Tariff (arrivals after 6pm to 6.59am the following day): £1.50
  • Total spaces: 452
  • Disabled spaces: 9

Just make sure you take ticket from bottom machine, top one is for coaches and charges coach rates.

As I'm thick can you tell me if the bold bit (above) is it £5 +£8 if you want to stay 24 hours?
 
As far as I know it's just the £8 for up to 24 hrs. But for example you could arrive at 18.05 and leave at 17.55 the next day for £1.50 + £5 or arrive at 18.05 spend full next day in Chester then stay overnight again leaving at 06.55 for £1.50 + £5 + £1.50. You pay as you leave and the machine works out the cost. That's my understanding of the charges but I could be wrong.
 
If you arrive before 6:00pm and stay up to 12 hours it's £5.00, if you stay for 24 hours it's £8.00 If you arrive after 6:00pm and leave before 7:59am next morning it's £1.50, if stay beyond 7:59pm it goes back to the first two prices, you don't pay £1.50 aswell.

Hi just a note on the Roodee parking is that the designated M H parking areas are quite small 6mts approx so a double car space may be needed also there are limitations on weights with 3.5 ton being the max before HGV rates. Sorry to dampen the spirit but it would be prudent to confirm with Chester council first.

Stayed this weekend arrived Saturday 12.30 and left Sunday 9.00 was charged£13 thought it would only be £8 as stayed less than 24 hours
