Loo height!

Delicate question 🫣. We now have new (old) van and settling in nicely BUT ( pardon the pun) find the loo rather high to sit on. We are both fairly tall but are on tip toes when seated. Does anyone know if there are different ‘bowl’ sizes that give a lower height?

IKEA sell small plastic moulded stools which area ideal for putting your feet on, they are also strong enough to stand on.

Yes, cassette toilets do come in different bowl heights.

Your van likely has a "tall" or "comfort height" model. You can swap it for a standard-height unit (Thetford and Dometic both make lower versions), and they bolt into the same space.

So yes, you can get a lower bowl - it just means replacing the toilet with the standard-height model.

My Thetford toilet was suposed to be mounted on a lower base, about 100mm below floor level. I suppose it's to compensate for the shower tray "thickness". In the first photo you can see the toilet standing on the floor board cutout. The toilet "floor" is the bamboo shower floor board.
