This is Bluetooth so not sure if I'm too far away to receive it on my phone, Wifi might be better but not found one yet, obviously it doesn't need to drain the VB too much.

I bought something similar to this a few years ago. As it's primarily a tracker it may be OTT for your purpose, but the app is very good and shows battery voltage. I've connected mine to LB but no reason why you can't use VB instead.

I pay £6.95 a month compared to £5.99 quoted here.

I had a look at the one star reviews, and it seems to not be that good for some folk, it may that they are not that technical, and I fall (dive head first) into that group, but it looks like it could be a good tool for some, and cheap enough, cheap enough to get one for the car too, I need to think about it a while as it's not what I was looking for.

This might do if the BT can reach the 10 meters it states but surely if it's under the cab floor and also has to get through the cabs bodywork it wouldn't work.

My experience with Victron and BMS is that Bluetooth has extremely limited range outside the vehicle. I suspect that you would have issues with it.
The TruTrak device has not only cost of acquisition but also ongoing monthly cost of subscription. There used to be devices on the market such as https://www.nordmaxbattery.com/en/p...ttery-monitor-with-gsm-communication-_-741470 that worked on SMS and you could use a PAYG SIM to receive alerts direct to your phone, but it looks as though mobile data technology has replaced these with trackers with monthly subscription.

I'd said I bought "something similar" to the link above because I couldn't find the actual one, so for completeness, here's what I actually got.

If course, it still has the drawback of monthly subscription, but overall I don*t think it's too bad.

Yes, that looks good too, but I think it's too much tech for me, my mind just goes blank.

Yes Tom, I thought BT m ight be too limited in it's signal strength too.

The Nordmax thing looks about what I'd like, I think You're right, old tech, WiFi would be better as it cost nothing.

The Shelly Plus Uni might do the job. It will connect to Wi-Fi.
There's some info at https://shellystore.co.uk/product/shelly-plus-uni/ and a downloadable pdf manual.
Not sure whether you would connect to the vehicle battery for power supply and voltage monitoring or whether you would have to use hab battery for power supply in order to monitor the vehicle battery.

I'll look at that, I'm on the telling bone right now.

If at all possible I'd plug into the 240v as it's only for when on the drive, it cost me £100 when the Ctek died.

Bugger, looks way to complicated for my brain, I'm not clever like wot you are :( :( but more better than that Trev though ;) ;)

Looks very interesting, although I'll probably never get around to doing anything with it. Thanks 👍

My victron solar controller is in the (ex) gas locker on the other side of the van, which is over ten metres from the house.

The bluetooth will just connect if I hold the phone near a window facing the van.

This is pretty rural, though. In a more electrically noisy environment it may be worse.
