Be careful setting the hot water temperature too low as this can cause Legionella. I believe the recommended temperature to avoid this is 50degC.
For those with oil boilers, to compare whether it is worth heating their water with oil or electricity, a litre of oil holds about 10kwh of energy. Modern oil boilers are 90%+ efficient. This will generally mean that it is only worth heating your water electrically if you have a very good night rate for electricity or have excess solar energy during the day.
