More on the dead dometic fridge - appears to be wiring problem

Ours was a Thule cassette type. I did no dismantling, just blasted it. I always thought it was worth a try before paying someone. It always seemed to improve the situation.
I could imagine road grit got into the sliding mechanism or gears making it stiff.

I had a disagreement with a soil bank on an island. The step cassette got filled with soil and stones and also got slightly bent. Finished up removing it. The very nice people who made it had poprivited together. Inside there was a chain, motor and loads of soil. Not to hard to clean it all out. Worth noting that there was a hexagonal part for manual winding of the motor should it not retract.
