more reg's for driving in europe

You know .... given that situation does exist, THAT is where a company like vignette.co.uk or whatever it is COULD give genuine added value by providing an automatic "whole of UK" registration so an owner is not caught out by straying into zones without realising they exist.
I think there are something like 134 local authorities in UK, so getting a national agreement/protocol would be a nightmare [and, as former Honorary National Secretary of the National Association of Financial Assessment Officers, whose prime aim was to produce a national model for Residentail/Nursing & Domiciliary Care Charging Policies, I can speak from experience]

Some errors from what looks like a 'Cut & Paste' of earlier guidance, e.g. [for 2023 travel] 'Visas not needed but may change for 2022'. Also, the Passport validity is wrong. The current Regs are on UK Government 'Travel to France' Page, stating that the Passport must be valid for a further 3 months after the planned Departure Date, rather than 6 months

I have a Crit Aire sticker but I haven’t yet stuck it on the windscreen.
I am not entirely sure from reading the accompanying letter where it needs to go.

I assume it and others such as this German one has to go on the rhs of the windscreen , personally I would rather not obstruct my view out of the windscreen with multiple stickers?

My Crit.Air and Umvelt Zone stickers are on the bottom rh of my Ducato screen. Doesn't obstruct the view at all.

we have laminated both the french & Germán ones & use a sucker clip so they can be removed easy placed like korky said bottom right hand side . the other reason we laminate ours is if you have to have a new windscreen is go & its a MOT failure . cheyenne

Be careful if not fixing the sticker permanently as it is my understanding of the rules that if found that it is not permanently fixed, you could be fined.

Article in today's Guardian confirming the need for Cirt'Air Stickers to be displayed in any city with a population in excess of 150,000 or face fines. Next year ANPR style systems will be used and the fines increased to €750

..and also worth re-iterating to anyone visiting this thread that the best way to get the sticker is via the official Gov website so you don't get ripped off...

...NOT this one, applied in haste, scam site, appeared so genuine. Dopey, lost £48.

the genuine official (i.e. Government) information sites on the Internet should have the government domain at the end (for the USA) or just before the country code (if non-US).

so UK Sites will will gov.uk (e.g. dvla.gov.uk); for France it is gouv.fr, USA will be simply .gov (so usa.gov, irs.gov, etc.).
If a site ends in ".com", it is EXTREMELY unlikely to be a government site and in all likelyhood will be a commercial for-profit site. Doesn't mean it is automatically a scam site by any means UNLESS they also claim to be an official site or provider of government or local/regional authority products, in which case run a mile :) (no doubt there will of course be an exception to this somewhere that will be pointed out, but this is the basis I work to).

I just got my German Clean Air sticker (top rating of Green as I have the superclean Euro 4 engine of 2007 ;) ) at the extortionate cost of €5.95 including postage (y)
Only trouble is I have been thinking of changing my registration to the one I have on retention and used on previous Campers, and if I do that, I have wasted the €5.95 as have to get another with the new reg :( .
(I forgot I was thinking of doing that when I applied for it. Ah well, das ist das Leben)

If I do a reg change, always time it for the insurance. other things tend to be free to update but insurance they seem to ask for upto £25 to update the system. (don't know why as in the past, I used to update the MID database directly myself to add and remove insured vehicles on my trade policy and it took a matter of minutes, so I doubt if it is any longer for a company whose job it is to do that).

Froggie Certificat qualité de l'air arrived yesterday. Another €4.61 wasted if I do change my registration. (guess it would be a lot more wasted if I used one of those 'services' to make it easier to get ;) (somehow. not sure how?)).
