At one of the bbq’s my son had in Guernsey the other night I got talking to one of his pals who has a Concorde Liner over there. He was telling me that under Guernsey regulations, because his van exceeds certain dimensions he has the following restrictions:
- the van can only be moved under police escort which has to be applied for in advance
- the van can only travel from their home to the ferry port
- the escorted journey must take place between 9pm and 6.45am
Somewhat takes away that “it’s a nice day let’s head off for a few days” impulse that so many of us motorhome by.
