N. Ireland Aires survey, please help

Ards and N. Down district council (N. Ireland) are seeking information from motorhomers in order to evaluate the need for Motorhome parking and Aires provision in their district. This information may become the template or evidence base for other councils. There is a slow awakening in the whole island of Ireland to the need for facilities. I am working with the council and motorhomecraic.com to seek provision of same.

I would be pleased if you could find the time to complete the survey, even if you have not been to Ireland yet. The answers you provide will almost certainly be similar to your own motorhoming experience. Pass the word to other motorhomers if you can.

I have done so as requested. I wish a few more on the mainland would do the same to find out what we need.

Well I completed the questionnaire earlier this evening, along with a few others.

All of those early posts seem to have gone missing.

Have we been banned already?

Problem solved. An identical thread was also started elsewhere.

Sorry John,

That was probably me. I have been promulgating the survey to as many of the big forums in the British isles to obtain a good response and a wide cross section of user pattern.

i am not a member of motorhomefun, but would be indebted to anyone on this forum who is who would post the link on that forum.

thanks to all who have responded so far.

No need to apologise Davy, once I realised what had happened I understood why you had done it and I tried to delete my post.

I think your thread is excellent, because from having worked all over Northern Ireland I know that it has so much to offer. The North Antrim coast is stunning and unspoilt. I hope the proposal is a huge success and maybe the rest of GB will follow.

Done and agree it would be great if more councils did this. They could then see a national picture if their results were shared.

we stayed at the Aire in CarrickFergus and it was great if a bit busy ( in June) and had Chavs revving engines until around midnight. Harmless but irritating. There was another Aire a few miles north ( Whitehead) which was in the carpark of a golf club but it was awful, carpark was steeply sloping, and the service unit was knackered and had been for a while, so we did not stay there.

K ?

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the survey, the closing date is Friday 5th.

If you have 5 minutes to spare please consider filling it in. Your help is much appreciated.

Davy
