So it’s a week old now and it vibrates when I accelerate and I just noticed that the tail pipe finnishes about 6 inches under the van now that can be sorted with a longer tailpipe but any ideas on the vibrating so I am armed with info when I take it back to the garage nearly £400 you would think they could get it right the first time.???????

it will probably just need a twist or adjustment it will be too close somewhere and causing the vibration

You got rid of Colin’s super repair!!!

I'm getting pretty exhausted with your problems annie....

Lol, sorry. As above, it'll just be knocking on something. Just a little adjustment required, probably with a hammer :)

Hope you get the exhaust sorted, my tail pipe does not extend past the rear of the motorhome, it's a t4 Holdsworth i cant see this being a problem or im i missing something that i should be aware of?

It will be a copy ex sys which never fit as good as the makers unit,or last as long either.
Not always Trev, cheaper copies tend to be but you can get exhausts that perform better and/or last longer. Well you certainly can with cars but don’t think I will be fitting a Janspeed extractor system on the van lol. Then again .... ;)

I have just fitted a new back box to my car, I didn't go for a genuine one or even an expensive copy, it was a nightmare to get it to hang in the right place, I had to keep removing and bending the hangers so that it didn't catch somewhere, when I fitted a complete exhaust on the van I was lucky and found a genuine one from Germany, obviously it fitted perfect and took about a quarter of the time to fit than the Panda back box?

Just been for a run in my van everything sounds ok with the new exhaust and the pipe is the same length as the previous, it is an aftermarket one purchased by my trusted VAG Garage. Only time will tell.

When in a jam or sat at lights you can smell the fumes in the hab area as it’s just by the door and it comes up through the gas drop out hole as the end of the pipe is under the the gas locker so it’s a problem on mine at the moment.

Can understand why you would need to extend it, mine runs to the underside passenger side near the gas locker but i don't get any problems with fumes etc. Hope you get it sorted.

If there are fumes coming in through the gas locker then the gas locker is not properly sealed to the interior of your moho.

I am making an assumption on that as it could be coming through the hab door as the seal on that is not very good and all I know is it never happened when the old exhaust with the extended tail pipe so I will get an extended one fitted and see if that stops it.

At £400 I would hope it would be better than OEM!

The last exhaust system I bought was for my VW T4 - £330 and Stainless Steel throughout.
I used this company based in Linconshire - http://pptuning.co.uk/. Their prices include either shipping to your address, or fitting in their workshop in Louth.
They specialise in VWs but if you take your vehicle to their workshops they will fabricate a custom exhaust to match precisely (and if you are in a Motorhome, you could probably stay overnight on the little industrial estate while they fab it one day and fit it the next?)
