New way of transporting motorbike

Saw this in a car park today in USA. He said it's great but too low on this car,better on his pick up tow hitch which is higher.Purchased Amazon .No more trailers ?IMG_20181029_154410.jpgIMG_20181029_154602.jpgIMG_20181029_154744.jpg510dgK4bG0L._AC_SY400_.jpg
 
I looked into designing a way to do it with the front wheel on the ground, I figured driving the gearbox on tow was not going to do the bike any good at all, but wouldn't harm the front wheel, (possible head bearing damage) it would have possibly needed some sort of lift mechanism, otherwise a straight forward fabrication job, but I never got around to it.
 
I would always prefer a rack which we have for our scooter but clearly not an option for a big bike. My worry with that is considering the miles some of us do to get to say the south of France or Italy wont it wear on the rear tyre? Im lucky if I get 3000 miles out of a rear tyre on our bike and usually have to change it mid trip. Well the man in the garage does it while I have a beer.

Work it out Kev, A little Honda Vision maxed out on its payload being tossed around the Pyrenees and Alps on skinny tyres they aint gonna last long!
 
I managed much better miles out of big bikes, but my mates often had to get new tyres at 3-4k though, i'm quite gentle off the line, then give it some wellington.
 
I don't think you will find a motorcycle that weighs over 750 kg. If it toppled over you would never get it upright again. I have a big Harley and that only weighs 260 kg.

My XS1100 with Squire child adult and me sat on it came in at 400 kilos and that was the heaviest bike I have known although my K1100LT with Gemini double adult sidecar could have been a little heavier as sidecar was wood not fibreglass.

Agree i don't think even an old Ural outfit with steels sidecar and full rear wheel drive/reverse would get close to 750kgs. Now if you are thinking of trikes though you may need to weigh some of the big ones
 
This guy has been making them since 2010, I'm not sure I'd trust my pride and joy on one though.

You used to be able to get a device I used to tow a couple of trikes home, it clamped to both front forks but left all wheels on the ground. There were a few devices for doing this that were more like the one posted here but the one I used made it a double articulated vehicle and we weren't sure how legal it was and I think it may have died out. Towed my VW trike from Grantham to Buxton absolutely fine though
