I have a friend who is considering a trip to NZ and hiring a MH for part of the time out there.

I’ve seen a Paul S on here who mentions having done so but can’t work out how to message him

Is there any specific thread or info anywhere on here or any other information sources🤔

Have many other members done it?
 
Yes we hired a camper in NZ few years ago.
Brilliant holiday, one of the best we've had.

Very pleased with the service and the van. It was an LDV panel van conversion, very well done. Fairly small but there's only two of us.
We started out from Christchurch, spend just under 3 weeks inthe South Island, then about 10 days on the North Island. Then flew out from Aukland.
All the campsites in NZ are really well set up and organised, we had a wonderful time.

Picked up a campervan in Picton, dropped it off in Canterbury. Was a small company my son sourced
Also was about 15 years ago .
NZ great place for travelling with a van . We travelled early September so it was quiet. I know it's incredibly busy in the high season .
 
Maui campers in Christchurch are probably the most popular for motorhomes, but also Britz, Pacific Horizon, Apollo and Jucy are very popular here in the South Island of New Zealand as well.
 
Compared to the UK the motorcamps in New Zealand also have comprehensive kitchen and cooking facilities as well as laundries.
