News on new MB Sprinter design 3rd eddition

We love our Sprinter 519 . We would love an all wheel drive too...unfortunately we ordered ours a year before they offered them.
maybe next time ?

UK dealers were a bit slow with the 4x4, some still don't even know it's an option, the ones that do know they are available don't know much about them. Although the few 4x4 specialists dealers like Rossetts know them well. 4x4 has been an option on Sprinters pretty much since it was released, it's just it was hugely expensive until the NCV3's

Strange Mercedes & Oberaigner would spend time and money developing the 6x6 if they can't do them on the next generation.

Yes, I have read that too. Just seems strange. There was just starting to be some really nice MH's on them too.

I have a price list somewhere, I'll see if I can find it. They offer a full range of 4x4 options, the most basic option is whats fitted to 4x4 Sprinters direct from factory. Thats part time 4x4 and relies on traction control. From memory it's probably around £8000 or £9000.

Next option up is full time 4x4 with centre diff lock, to that you can add front and rear difflocks. Also you can choose the reduction, either as fitted to standard Sprinter 4x4, or a much lower reduction. All options including protection and snorkel is probably getting on for £28000.

There are three manufacturer options for 4x4 Sprinters. Oberaigner, Iglhaut Allrad and Achleitner.
Oberaigner by far the most common, as they supply the drive train to Mercedes for the factory ones. If you want more than standard, van goes to Oberaigner.
Iglhaut probably has the best reputation, is 100% aftermarket, though MB warranty is retained on new vans, probably at least 30% more £ than Oberaigner.
Very rarely come across Achleitner, they don't seem as favoured as Iglhaut, although VW Germany had a few Crafters converted a few years ago. They often pop up on mobile.de
