anybody else get this ?
building something today , grabbed a handful of screws and screwed them in . 16 screws needed, and that's exactly how many i'd grabbed - happens quite often . later i was sealing the join between 2 sheets of triplex. i had a roll of weatherproof tape with some left on it . i needed 8 foot ,and yes , that's exactly what was left on the roll . later still i was making some cupcakes, pulled some cases out of the pack , and again ,i'd pulled out exactly what i needed, 12 cases . very odd

I'm not sure whether you should go and buy a lottery ticket.
Or whether you should be burnt a the stake as a witch.
😂😂😂

I get the same sort of thing, it's mostly just being good and well practiced at your job (even the cake making lol) The tape was just lucky.

Sunday I said to my brother the kitchen worktop will be about 900mm off the floor and put a mark on the wall as he was fetching a tape - 899mm. Then I put some weight on the not screwed down floor and it sank a mm

He called me names lol.

I went out to look at a job of replacing the roof on a block of flats and measure up for materials I pulled up in the street never got out the van just looked and said 350 meters of tiles 200 meters of fascia and gutters. Turns out it was spot on and the young guy who was with me and measured it properly took him best part of an hour was really impressed with my skill. I told him that's experience for you. What he doesn’t know is we done the identical block of flats round the corner last year before he started.

daughter just asked me if i could make her a tensegrity table . i made a model of one yesterday as an experiment

I'm not sure if you made a table with components under tension or compression - or both. And did it have integrity?
Let's see it then!

Colin 🙂🙂🙂

I was once checking over a glazing subcontractors drawings for an atrium roof with surfaces that met at a complicated acute angle. Just looking at them I reckoned that were a degree or two out at the junction, and told their guy as much. He looked at me as if I was daft, can’t be wrong he said, all worked out by computer. That evening to satisfy myself I wasn’t loosing my touch I got out the old school tables and convinced myself I was right. Next morning told him so. He grinned sheepishly looked at me as if I was a magician, wizard or suchlike, and said he’d done likewise, they were a degree and a half out, and it would have cost them many tens of thousands if I hadn’t noticed. Equally mysteriously, perhaps more witchcraft, a bottle of wine materialised on my desk a little later!

I seem to have jackets and trousers with a lot of pockets. While searching through them for my car keys once, I complained to a friend that "they're always in the last place you look!"

"Of course", he replied. "Because after that you stop looking."
