Has anyone reapplied for their licence on age grounds recently? If so how long did it take to get please. Hoping it will be straight forward. Thanks for reading.

i think as long as you aren’t going for your C1 over 3.5tonn it’s pretty straightforward

I haven't done it for almost 3 years, but from reports that I've seen, it's still normally pretty fast if done online.

Did it in August on line, pretty straightforward unless you are still on a paper licence. If so, they will require an up to date photo which made mine take just over 3 weeks start to finish.

As Ken said, renewing your C1 license wouldn’t be a problem atm. Legislation is on the books to insist that over 70’s will need an eye test in the future. That’s not in force yet.
A medical will be required if going for 7.5 tonnes or above.

I think that should be a medical report is required for over 3.5 tonnes at age 70+.

Mine took about 3 working days online, they picked up my photo automatically from my passport records

That’s correct. Apologies, I didn’t make myself clear.

12 months ago I renewed my 7.5 ton licence. The medical was straightforward with eye test included, less than £50.
I had to post everything. The new licence was returned within the week. I have no medical conditions.
OH doesn't have 7.5 ton licence, renew online, new licence within 3 days.

I did mine recently online under 3500 T came through in a couple of days
