One for Tonybvi

Your auld watering hole has had a revamp, looks the biz, we’ll be giving it a visit soon to try the food fayre 😛

Let us know how you get on Terry. After we’ve all landed back at home and on a visit to Penicuik I’ll try to persuade son in law to take us there if it’s any good!
Last place they took us was the Sun Inn opposite the viaduct on the A7 - hardly recognised the place from the miners drinking establishment that it used to be when we frequented it.

You may well be back before get around to checking out the food fayre, Tony. Fair bit on at the mo, and hoping to get away with the camper soon.

I don't visit the Sun Inn, the owner (if still in post?) is compulsive tax dodger, we the customer pay VAT on our purchase, and the owner was filling his boots. A quick google explains.

When we lived in Pathhead we were next door but one to the Foresters and used it a lot. Can’t recall the owners name at that time but he also had the Juniper Lea out on the A68 near Sotra Hill which was run by his son.

Davy Birrell . His wife Myra did all the work .
Probably told the story before but during the miners strike Davy sided with the Tories.
Hence the 'big hall' getting a licence
