The Széchenyi Bridge (aka Chain Bridge) spans the River Danube between Buda and Pest It was designed by an English engineer and built by a Scottish engineer.
It opened in 1849 and was the first permanent bridge across the Danube in Hungary.
This boat ride on the Danube was free.
All Hungarian public transport such as trains, buses, trams, boats is free for EU citizens over 65. You just need to show your passport. .
So make sure that you visit whilst we are still in!
