Powapacs

I had a little difficulty getting the 31AH version, so in the end I changed my order to the 28AH (rather than wait) and got a refund for the difference.

Having now received it, I have to say that I am very impressed.

I had it Hydro-dipped in the Carbon Silver finish, and it looks very smart. It appears to be very well made and robust, but weighing in at just 1.4kg. The lighting bundle which I ordered with it is also very good, with excellent output.

So far, I have run the lights for about 1 hour and a small (10") HD TV for 2 hours and the battery hasn't yet dropped below 100%. Reading the reviews, a lot of users are getting up to a weeks worth of power or more from these units, so I reckon it will be a great back up to have in the van and boat or as a primary power source when I am fishing or tent camping.

I have now ordered the padded carry case and a Powalite to go with it.

One satisfied customer!

(I should mention, 10Amp maximum at 12v)

The Powalite looks a decent bit of kit and lots of charging options. (When is Julie's birthday?)

Not sure Chris, I think it's June?

But I might get the kids to get her one for mother's day. One can't have too many torches, can one.

Hi Rob is it possible to recharge without mains hook up .Bazz

You can Bazz.

I bought the separate 12v cigar lighter socket so you can charge whilst driving.

Looks interesting. Is thIs the future of leisure batteries? More expensive but so much lighter and smaller. I noticed in the specs for it that it they recommend not charging it 100% but also not to “stress about it”! Fun!

I read that too.

I suppose some people would get fanatical about charging and keeping the charge level between 40 and 80%, but I'm not that worried. Judging by the reviews it should serve my purpose.

When it arrived it was 100% charged, so far, I have charged my phone 3 times from 50% full, run lights for a couple of hours, charged 2 tablets from flat and watched a 10" TV for 5 hours and it is still showing 83% full.

Over the weekend I will try it out on a larger TV.

I wouldn't attempt to run a fridge from it though!
