Brought this van 4 years ago for 42k.
And sold after 12 months.
It's been sold twice by dealer and its back again. Now 48k all but few quid.

That'll be the Staycation Tax ... prices are mad while demand is so high. It's a great time to sell but not a good time to buy. Exchanging should be swings and roundabouts.
When the "Benidorm" lot bu99er off back to spoiling Spanish beaches instead of giving us a bad name next year (hopefully) there will be a glut of second hand Van's and prices will plummet.
K ;)

We considered changing up to a new Autosleeper Winchcombe for a bit more room, trading in our Autosleeper Broadway, We have been offered £50k for it sell or p/x thats £2000 less than when we purchased it new in 2017, Now do we dont we ??, Do we dont we ??, Do we dont we ??.

That nightmare Hymer Charlie had that leaked like it had extra showers installed was for sale on Motorhome depot a few months back for £100k. Pity the poor people who buy that one eh

Interesting ! the likely ongoing covid19 variant, and probably more, make the propect of commuting between UK aand Thailand both unatractive and potentially both difficult and expensive and indeed 2 weeks quarantine very unpleasant. !
Thailand has(reasonable enough) just suspended the Test and go programme
Thus feeling fortunate (or well-organised) that we are safely here already.

The prospect of being confined to UK does not suit us
Indeed we prefer to tour Europe from UK and this may well become difficult and cause impossible time constraints.
WE would like 1 swansong which would be a 3 month tour of Sweden and Norway in the summer of 2022.
At the moment our return to UK in April 2022 simply might not happen.
That is PLAN A together with SELL UP in say September (provided we are in UK)
I post a link to a vehicle just like ours

Our mileage is the same The vecle was first registered in 2006 and we bought it in 2010 so just 2 owners
we have 2x 11kg Gasit and 2 newish 100AH batteries (and solar).
We had a damp problem but this is resolved.
The vehicle has very minor battlescars but is in good very order now following the damp repair and new LED spots (x6)
The sofrt furnishing are as new a Nida made covers to protect.
We paib £27,000 in 2010 and have spent
£1,000 on gasit and solar
£450 on batteries (2020) and recently £2,500 on damp repairs
£500 on a new cambeltin 2018
Clearly Motorhome depat have to make a profit but I would readily accept £23,000 ono and maybe less
If we are stuck in Thailand over the summewr of 2022 I would wish to somehow carry out a remote sale ?

Waiting for now until Easter 2022
2 years ago I would have valued the vehicle at £17,000
The vehicle has been serviced every year form 2010

AS I wrote above NO definites just wait and see

I bought my selfbuild back last year for £6k and sold it a bit later for £16k the market is bonkers, I'm in two minds to sell our latest van and not bother for a couple of years, but my fitness is not great now so no idea what it'll be like then so not sure what to do.

after getting it all sorted out vis-a-vis damp repairs, I would in your situation sell on (y)

Yes 100%
Just when how etc.
We arranged for the damp repairs.
1 necessarry
2 to sell either on 2022 or 2023.
It looks like covid is forcimg our hand.
Not coming to Uk in 2022 would save us £2000 AND hassle uncertainty etc

selling to a dealer would be the easiest and maybe the best option given the awkwardness of being so distant. I understand dealers are still eager to buy stock even this time of year so they are in a better postion come spring (and have the funds to do so as their forecourts are so empty).

thanks David.
Too early yet for a few reaons but yes !
i might well be in touch with the company who did the repair
also a dealer very near the storage facility

It would be also worth getting a quote from Motorhome Depot. Explain you want a fairly quick sale. Mine sold quickly at a price I thought was way too high.

Time is not an issue but yes motorhome depot is an option.
clearly nice to get things done and dusted once we have settled on a course of action.

We do not need to decide for 3 months and anticipate a decision in mid-february

the repercussions of
a) positive test results
b) many days quarantine in uk or Thailand
c) no flights to Thailand
fill us both with horror ! and being stuck in UK having sold our motorhome ?.

recent news
1 the last few hours in uk/europe
2 the extreme likelihood that thailand re-imposes mandatory hotel quarantine fro friday

has rolled the dice yet again and if we were to decide today it would be
"Stay in Thailand" and sell the vehicle.
But that is not needed today so wait and see.
I am sure readers will see the likely direction.
Indeed if returning to UK in April would entail no trip to Scandinavia because of European restrictions then again we would not fly to UK.
We have toured the UK enough and we find the lack of aires etc a real pain

So if things much as they are now we will not fly to UK !!!

Despite the name "depot", isn't Motorhome Depot just a go-between Buyer and Seller and the motor remains at the sellers location and they have to be around for the keys, etc.?
never used them for anything but that is my understanding.

We paid 36k for ours in 2011 (3yrs old). Second owners. Dealer I bought it from said if I wanted to part ex it
I would get a good deal, cash would only be 37k!!!!!! It has been maintaine by them since day one and is on
their storage so I see the guy quite regularly. Main problem? Buying another one so it's a no brainer and we
won't be cashing in.
