Propex 2000 heater

On ours, the air flow sensor (fan) kept getting stuck and giving us a 5-flash error. had to blow hard up the exhaust a few times to clear it. newer models have different air flow sensor (and old ones can be upgraded). Beyond that, fault free 10 year heavy use

I second this.
I use a bike hand pump to force air up the exhaust (when the heater is switched off).

Mine will only run on Propane. It would start on Butane but only run for about two seconds before cutting our.
On Propane it run for most of the time but would play up if the voltage dropped when another electrical item was being used.
I was advised to fit a "Buck Booster" that gives a constant voltage to the Propex no matter what else is in use.
This sorted the problem and it fire's up and run's all the time now when the thermostat calls for it.

This is a well known and very easy to cure problem.

Propex have to be the most helpful, friendly and generally cooperative company I have ever had any dealings with, but prior to doing this, the following is the easy to follow way of curing the fault.

Either using a high pressure air line or a high powered vacuum, simply force air (on full power) into or suck air out of the heater. I know that might sound stupid, but on my Propex 1800 it works every single time.
In fact I have a small (and brilliant) hand held rechargeable Black & Decker vacuum and even that has enough suck to clear the problem which apparently in most cases is because a small spider has built a web/nest over the terminals!!
