This happened before ice dropping from cables onto vehicles so they were meant to have installed some electrical system as to melt when ice formed on the cables( great expense I believe)They only said it wouldn't be closed for wind - obviously didn't think of other problems![]()
Just said that to christina when i saw it on the news last night, something like a trace line as used on water pipes may be the answer. This happened before ice dropping from cables onto vehicles so they were meant to have installed some electrical system as to melt when ice formed on the cables( great expense I believe)

I believe they are awaiting a response from Phil regarding solar and DECENT ADVICE TO GET THEM OOT THE MUCKIt would take a fair bit of juice to warm all the cables up I expect - might need a biggish battery bank and solar array
A retro fit wouldn't be cheap if the did decide it was worth it.
Presumably it's closed a lot less often than the old bridge?
