It’s an age thing, Roger. You are in Portugal mate. Getting confused at your age isn’t unusual. You’re not in a parallel universe. If you were, you’d possibly meet another member there.I think I’ve drifted into a parallel universe...
Ah yes, the old sun has a lot to answer for.....It’s an age thing, Roger. You are in Portugal mate. Getting confused at your age isn’t unusual. You’re not in a parallel universe. If you were, you’d possibly meet another member there.
Cheers for that Paul.Jeff the talbot forum are always praising a chap called Mike Chubb at No1 gear for Talbots, Fiats, Citroen’s, Peugeot’s etc. Might be worth a phone call. They recon he really knows his stuff.
The probs is they are to far away for me£1k for a 3 year guarantee sounds pretty good but I'd not fancy my chances on getting anything done if it did go wrong given that you're dealing with a firm in Germany - plus down time.
I'd definitely get an opinion from a gearbox specialist.
I've used Gloucester Road Gearboxes in Bristol - they have plenty of experience and will know of common problems.
They charge c£500 to remove-replace and dismantle-rebuild plus parts. So not cheap but thorough.
They only give 6 months warranty on commercial boxes - but I don't see that as an issue if you let them fix everything they find.
