@jeffmossy - because they look to be local to Oldham General Hospital, so not a million miles away from Hollingworth etc. A1 Caravan & Motorhome Upholstery Limited, Unit F3, Pandora Business Park Greengate, Middleton, Manchester M24 1RU. The Gallery photos look to be decent quality workmanship, even if some of the patterns are a wee bit garish! Our M/Home is coming up for 10 years old and the leather has the odd scuff and wear mark, and the foam is beginning to get a wee bit saggy [the disproportionately huge dining table stops one side of the lounge being used easily, so that side is relatively unscathed, whereas the opposite sofa has taken all of the load and is just about shot!

Prices sound competitive, but worried that they may be too cheap - or are other better known companies overcharging? Website A1 Upholstery has indicative prices

Steve, I have never used them but I have heard some good reports from people who have used them, but at the end of the day the decision is yours and not mine, you should know your way to the shop being a local to Oldham hospital 😜🤕😷

But only in the dark, Jeff, and we're coming into Spring now ... :ROFLMAO:. I'm probably better with Melrose Hospital and The Highland Games competition for Cafetiere Tossing ... :ROFLMAO:

Thanks very much for the reply - very reassuring for such a major part of the hab area - get it wrong, and it will be a long time to live with a 'Don't know what I was aiming for with this, but I must have missed by a mile' [or chose it in the dark ...]

All the things that we found didn't work/needed upgraded/replaced during the 90 day trip to Spain :ROFLMAO: . Doing them *before* the trip would have been better ...

Change of tack in view of a] the fuel crisis; and b] the fact that the larger reupholsterers don't appear too bothered about responding to quote requests or even answering the phone!

John Thomson of Kirkcaldy were recommended to us by East Neuk Motorhomes. Phoned Thomsons about 11;15 today, invited to bring the M/Home for inspection and measurement; arrived shortly after 11:30 and the Boss and his sewing machinist took over to measure and confirm that they would be able to do the work we wanted. We made a provisional choice of leather colour [revisit tomorrow morning to make a final choice] and type of foam. Quote received 4pm, +/- £500 depending upon final leather choice and final Supplier prices, especially for foam. The higher price is £130 cheaper than the larger companies, the lower figure £630 cheaper, and there will be no £150 or so bill for diesel to/from Derbyshire plus the cost of entertaining/feeding ourselves whilst the work is undertaken. Additionally, Thomsons know that we may want/need to use the M/Home whilst the reupholstery is underway, so they will take the cushions a couple at a time and slot the work around existing jobs.
