prior to brexit i had 4 x 3 accounts 2 x unlimited 2 x 100gb as each has run out i have changed supplier i got a data sim from ID mobile for my i pad & an O2 for my phone , now i’m ready to leave been exploring options i have got a pop it sim which is EE & looks good 100gb roaming that’s going in my huawei hub mi fi, the most interesting one is the ID mobile in my i pad that is based on 3 uses their network yet where 3 is just NO on roaming on ID you can use the whole allowance and it rolls over so currently on my 40gb plan i have 79gb roaming & is supported for 4 months so sounds ideal , i tend to overdo the whole connectivity thing but 3 months away need face time for the grandkids & firestick for the rugby plus faceache etc !

Let us know how you get on, if it works well I'll be following you.

not sure you can use all your ID data for roaming. check out their fair use policy which is based areound what you pay monthly bnot amount of data. rg pay £10 month and you get 7.72gb roamimng, pay £15 and you get 11.58gb. check it out here https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/eu-roaming/fair-usage-policy

I'm with Tesco Mobile, with unlimited data, and no roaming fair usage policy. £25 per month. Although they are introducing a cap later this year. Best thing you can do is buy a SIM in the country you are in. Switzerland Salt Mobile is 2CHF per day unlimited data, Orange France & Spain are €1 per day unlimited data, all PAYG.

I'm currently using a Lobster SIM in France, €24 per 28 days and 210 GB of data until the end of February, then it drops down to 70GB, been tethering the firestick with it, with no problems, we also have a smarty SIM and Tesco mobile in our regular phones, but I believe they get a bit snotty once you have spent more than 2 months out of 4 out of the UK. If they do I will just switch the data off from them. Lobster can be used through the EU and even in the UK.

We had considered Lobster but dropping down drastically in February. Also the Tikom sim which cost more but for a lot more data, which we didn't think we would need. They also charged €15 to deliver to UK which seemed rather excessive.

Anyway decided to go for the Popit sim.........................100gb for £25 month and full access to UK TV and Iplayer without vpn.
Good signal throughout France so far...............I looked around and I think it's the best UK deal unless needing more then 100gb.

must admit the popit does seem to be the bees knees their life chat is really good as well sorted out this thicko activating a sim in mi fi in 5 mins as an example just spent 90 mins on 3 trying to cancel a contract for a phone left at home whose contract runs out before i return home but they can only respond to that phone , ! what about the e mail address that set it up online ? yes we have that but can only send a pac code to that no

thanks dad hadn’t read that up i have this £10 ID sim in my i pad , an 02 good for 25 gb a month for two months in my phone and the 100gb popit good for 4 months in my wi fi overkill as i said

We used virgin unlimited data for 4 years never had any problems home our eu .
They don't inforce far usage policy.

Just
Bought a Vodaphone sim preloaded for €20 but it’s only €15 to reload it.
100 gb 800mins.
I preume this is for Spain. Is there any "small print" about fair usage in the rest of the EU
The Spanish Lobster sim is massively reducing its offer in February(by about 2/3 I think)

Yes sorry it’s Spain.
We get to use the whole 100gb
Not looked at the Lobster one for a while but thought it was dearer ?

I think the Lobster deal is now €24 for only 70gb. Not sure if it works across EU.
SO .............Popit wins hands down for use across the EU and with UK TV and Iplayer.
I have no connection with them but I just think its the best deal..............reminds me of the Eurosim which Vodafone Italia used to offer when we first started travelling.

We.re leaving for Spain at the end of February and already decided to go for popit. Do you need to do anything to get iplayer without a vpn? That would definitely be an added attraction. Thanks

Sorry a bit late to reply but no vpn needed to access Iplayer in EU.
Popit continues to work well in Southern Spain...................in fact very well compared to the signal we used to get from Three when we tried to squeeze into their 12 gb.
Many more campsites seem to have good wi fi these days but for £25 for Popit and UK TV it's a no brainer.
