We're hoping to get away on Wednesday aiming for Maryport for a wee break, and then see how we feel/state of the weather for how long we stay and where to next. No point in planning anything because we never stick to it :rolleyes: :D

65 to 80 miles each way, depending on your choice of route ... And we've got prescriptions to sort out yet [a Lloyds Pharmacy that is supposed to open 9-5 all day, but which, for the last 3 months+ has been opening 9-1 and then 3-5 [except when it's not, or when there is no Relief Pharmacist available, in which case it's closed or 'Today we'll be open at about 11, when the Pharmacist is able to attend'. I'm not joking! We were told today that Lloyds 'should be able to prepare the prescription tomorrow' ...

I'll let you know if we are able to get away and we can play it by ear, Chris

Maryport? Went there a few years back in the van and was not at all impressed! The town seemed really run down. It would take a lot of convincing to get me back there.

Caravan/Motorhome Park refurbished and modernised in 2021 so may well be different from when you visited. Looks to be lots of Roman History in the area, and the prime purpose of visiting is for relaxation after a difficult 12 months. Chacun a son gout seems apposite. When we've had enough, we'll move on, possibly to New Forest to check the Forestry Commission sites before the end of the season and for some walking/cycling to get away from it all

We’re not far from Moffat ourselves, it’s been far too hot for my liking today and it going to get warmer apparently!
 
Asked if we could stop another night (Fri) sorry no chance Fully Booked phone bin Red Hot was reply 🥺
