Serious question for the seasoned motorhomers 👀

Thanks Reg, that's the second time I've seen that recommendation. I read previously that they were great for window condensation, but had never considered drying cloths.

Are you referring to the WV1, WV2, or a more expensive model please?

Sorry to but in on your thread Mr Admin. ☹️
personally, either window vac... have both as we use them in shower at home!
Another thing for "useful box" hose clips and cable ties...just a selection.

Cork screw, does no one use them🤣
Dunno - perhaps Trevskoda can advise on whether a Cork Screw has any special features, akin to those that Barry Cryer attributed to the pleasurable sexual experience that is Derelict on I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue... 😁

Power Bank for charging phones, multimeter ( obviously if they know how to use it)
A "knaus owner" water went off (same van as mine)... she panicked asked the knaus group, people got really tech, control panel blown, fuses blown, battery flat etc etc. 1 guy even explained how to replace the micro switch in a Bailey water pump, convinced it was thr same as hers 🤷🏻‍♂️😁😁😁
I gave simple instruction 4 stages, they found the pump was fkd. Replaced pump continued on trip. Happy Deva helped someone. 👍🏻👌

Hi, We bought the WV2 for the window cleaning accessory but we only take the window vac with us. Check YouTube loads of videos and one used on a van windscreen. Definitely a game changer.

In most cases what you need is still at home, I have a Dyson V6, remembered to take the charger at least :rolleyes:
That's where a Packing List comes in, Kev; split into Sections - Paperwork, Bike specific, M/home vehicle kit (oil, bulbs et al), Hab Area kit, and Personal kit, including medication, prescriptions et al

Gorilla Tape, not cheap stuff from a poundshop that leaves residue, get the real deal
Cable Ties, assorted
small power bank for phone, if everything goes wrong your phone could literally be a lifesaver especially with W3W app on phone
rechargeable tyre inflater, fits in door pocket, invaluable when you need to deflate tyres to get off muddy field
Fuses, cable connectors
head torch
military ration pack can opener, lightweight, will open any can and beer caps, never let you down
corkscrew, should really be at the top
Hi Vis Vest and in bag cheap rain poncho and disposable gloves, breakdowns always happen when its dark and raining and tyres, for example, are filthy

As well as a little tyre gauge, I think it would be thoughtful to include a very basic first aid kit, assuming of course that we are still talking about a Welcome Pack and not a Survival Kit.

A requirement in most European Countries of course Roger. PS How you and Chris doing? Is the van behaving itself finally?

If we’re still talking welcome packs, I think a little tyre pressure gauge would be useful and also encourage newbies to keep an eye on their tyres.
Cheers Roger, you've reminded me to pack a decent tyre pressure gauge as part of my tool kit!

If you are on refillable gas an adaptor kit is essential

Hi Mark,
Sadly, we got the New Year Lurgy that was going around at Hollingworth. Chris developed pneumonia and I still have the cough that accompanies Superflu. Can’t get a decent nights sleep and the Dr reckons I’ll have it for another two weeks.
The van, on the other hand, is absolutely flying along, like a new vehicle, wonderful! The gearbox, as you know, developed a clunk in Norway and when we got home we found a chap who rebuilt the gearbox, and now it’s just like driving a new vehicle, love it to bits! Hope all is well with you.
